Kindred Squared awareness campaign and public engagement
Putting babies back into the conversation
Marking the first anniversary of lockdown, we created #WhatAboutUs, a campaign highlighting the impact of the pandemic on babies and families. Working with Kindred Squared, the Parent-Infant Foundation and more than 200 charities, including NSPCC, Action for Children and NCT, we developed a social media and email campaign to raise awareness of the lack of funding and support for the youngest children.
Since lockdown began, more than 600,000 babies had been born, yet little attention had been given to the long-term impact on their development. The first two years of life are critical for learning, physical and mental health, and social development, but government Covid catch-up funding overlooked this age group.
#WhatAboutUs brought charities together behind a shared message, shining a spotlight on this gap, raising public awareness and calling for urgent action to ensure babies and families were not left behind.
